The Loctite SI 587 Blue High Performance RTV Silicone Gasket Maker (formerly Loctite 587) is a metallic blue oxime silicone for forming gaskets in place. It is designed to resist automotive engine oils, stays put as a thixotropic paste and works up to +260°C. It can replace or dress cut gaskets and also repairs fabricated silicone gaskets. This is the 95 g tube.
Lay a bead onto clean, grease-free flanges and assemble within a few minutes, as it starts curing once exposed to air. It is tack-free in 10 to 50 minutes with full properties at 72 hours; avoid carburettors or fuel controls in constant contact with hydrocarbon fuels, and oxygen, chlorine or strong oxidiser service.
