The Loctite SI 587 Blue Maxx Silicone Flange Sealant (formerly Loctite 587) is a metallic blue, one-part oxime silicone paste for gasketing and sealing in plant maintenance and OEM work. As a form-in-place gasket it performs well against industrial and automotive engine oils, adheres to a wide range of substrates and is typically used from -54°C to +260°C. It also bonds and repairs fabricated silicone gaskets, and its thixotropic paste reduces run-off. This is the 300 ml (390 g) cartridge.
It begins to cure as soon as it is exposed to air, so apply to clean, grease-free flanges and assemble within a few minutes; it is tack-free in 10 to 50 minutes, with full properties after 72 hours, and cured excess trims off with a blade. It is not for carburettors or fuel controls in constant contact with fuel, concentrated acids, or pure-oxygen and strong-oxidiser service. Consult the Safety Data Sheet before use.
