Loctite 596 Superflex RTV High Temperature Silicone Sealant Red

The Loctite SI 596 High Temp RTV Silicone (formerly Superflex Red RTV Silicone / 596) is a red, one-part acetoxy silicone paste for gasketing and sealing in maintenance and OEM assembly. It cures at room temperature to a tough, flexible, waterproof and oil-resistant rubber that resists ageing, weathering and thermal cycling without hardening, shrinking or cracking. It works from -59°C to +316°C, on jobs from oil pans and valve covers to furnaces, ovens and exhaust stacks. Available in 80 ml and 300 ml.

Moisture in the air cures it, going tack-free in about an hour and fully cured in 24 hours, depending on temperature, humidity and gap; expect a vinegar smell from the acetic acid released as it cures. Don't use it on carburettors or fuel control devices in constant contact with hydrocarbon fuels, as it will swell and weaken, or in oxygen-rich systems. Consult the Safety Data Sheet before use.
