1/2 in (15 mm) Brass Foot Valve | VBF15

This AAP brass foot valve has a brass body, an NBR gasket and a female threaded connection. It is supplied in 9 sizes from 1/2 in (15 mm) to 4 in (100 mm).

A foot valve is a one-way valve fitted at the foot of a pump suction pipe. It holds liquid in the suction line when the pump stops, which helps keep the pump primed, and the strainer basket on the inlet keeps solids out. The AAP drawing shows a perforated strainer basket on the inlet end.

AAP gives a maximum working temperature of 100 degrees C and a cold working pressure of 965 kPa (9.65 bar), with a thread to AS 1722.1, and lists the valve for general, irrigation and rural services (all manufacturer-stated). AAP lists the body as brass and the gasket as NBR, and does not list the internal seat or spring materials.
