This AAP hexagon head bush is a 316/316L stainless steel forged fitting with NPT thread. It is supplied in 9 sizes, 1/2 x 1/4 in (15 x 8 mm) to 2 x 1-1/2 in (50 x 40 mm).
A bush reduces a threaded port from a larger size to a smaller one. The size is given as the larger thread first, then the smaller, for example 1/2 x 1/4. A threaded bush is normally male on the outside and female on the inside, and this one has a hexagon head for a spanner. AAP does not state the thread gender, so confirm it with AIMS if it matters. A is its length and B is the width of the hexagon head, as lettered on the AAP drawing.
AAP rates its stainless steel high pressure fittings at 3000 lb (manufacturer-stated) and lists them as 316/316L stainless steel to ASTM A182. AAP does not say which material its pressure and temperature chart covers, so AIMS does not quote it for stainless steel. Confirm the pressure rating at your operating temperature with AIMS before you order.

Selecting the right option
Choose the size and thread to match your pipework (NPT or BSPT cannot be mixed), and check the thread gender at each end against the fitting it joins. Sizes are listed as the larger thread first, then the smaller.
