Austsaw SSBE1352050 135mm x 50T Extreme Stainless Steel Blade

The Austsaw Extreme Stainless Steel Blade is a cermet tipped circular saw blade for cutting stainless steel pipe, square tube, plate and rebar (manufacturer-stated). This page lists five sizes from 135mm to 355mm diameter: four for cordless and corded saws and a 355mm blade for low speed saws.

Austsaw lists the range with cermet tips (the catalogue describes cermet as a composite of ceramic and metal), laser cut slits for noise reduction, a non-stick Pro-shield coating that reduces frictional resistance on the blade surface, anti-vibration slot resin plugs and dual step saw blade technology (manufacturer-stated). The catalogue says the blades are suitable for #316 grade stainless steel, although blade life will be reduced, and Austsaw states 15x the life of its competitors (manufacturer-stated).

All five sizes have an ATB 8° tooth grind and a 0° hook angle (listed in the catalogue as Rake). The 135mm and 150mm blades have a 20mm bore, the 165mm and 185mm blades a 20mm bore with a 16mm bush, and the 355mm blade a 25.4mm bore and a maximum speed of 1,500 RPM for low speed saws. The maximum cut thickness rises with diameter, from 2.0mm on the 135mm and 150mm blades to 6.0mm on the 355mm blade. The catalogue lists the 355mm blade as resharpenable and refers to its cutting procedure notes: clamp the material tightly and, where possible, cut corner to corner so that as few teeth as possible are in the cut.

Selecting the right option

Choose the diameter and bore your saw takes, then check the maximum cut thickness against the stainless section you are cutting (2.0mm on the 135mm and 150mm blades, 3.0mm on the 165mm and 185mm blades, 6.0mm on the 355mm blade).
