Beaver Grade 80 Alloy Lifting Chain, 6 mm, 1,100 kg WLL (148006)

Beaver Grade 80 (T) alloy lifting chain is a load rated short link chain supplied by the metre in 6, 7, 8, 10, 13, 16, 20, 22 and 32 mm, with working load limits (WLL) from 1,100 kg to 31,500 kg depending on size. Beaver states that it is manufactured from heat treated alloy steel and meets AS 2321, Short-Link Chain for Lifting Purposes.

Beaver states that the chain is tested throughout manufacture and carries markings in accordance with Australian standards, stamped at intervals along its length for identification. Beaver describes it as suited to heavy duty lifting applications. The finish is self colour.

Key specifications

Codes, sizes, WLLs and metres per 100 kg are from Beaver's Materials Handling Technical Manual (Vol. 4) and Beaver's website, which agree. Metres per drum are subject to plus or minus 10 percent on actual metreage.

Selecting the right option

Choose the chain size from the WLL your assembly needs, then match every other part of the assembly (hooks, links, connectors and shackles) to the same or a higher WLL, because the assembly is limited by its lowest-rated component. Chain sling configurations (multi-leg, angled or choked) carry less than the single-leg chain WLL, so confirm the rating for your configuration with a qualified rigger. Lifting equipment must be used within its marked working load limit (WLL), inspected before each use, and selected and used in line with your site lifting procedure and the relevant Australian Standards.
