Beaver Grade 80 eye swivel self locking safety hooks suit 7-8 mm to 20 mm Grade 80 chain, with working load limits (WLL) of 2,000 kg (2 t) to 12,500 kg (12.5 t). The hook swivels, but Beaver states it does not swivel under load and warns not to swivel it under load.

Beaver states that its Grade 80 lifting components are made from heat treated alloy steel, are tested throughout manufacture, and meet AS 3776, Lifting Components for Grade T Chain Slings. They carry distinguishing marks, including the brand, grade and size and a date of manufacture and batch ID.

Selecting the right option

Choose the size by the WLL and the chain size it must match, and make sure every part of the assembly (chain, link, hook and lifting point) is Grade 80 and rated for the load. Do not swivel this hook under load. If the load must be able to rotate while lifted, use a bearing type swivel hook instead. Lifting equipment must be used within its marked working load limit (WLL), inspected before each use, and selected and used in line with your site lifting procedure and the relevant Australian Standards.
