Beaver Grade 80 recessed enlarged master oblong links are listed by Beaver for single leg and double leg chain sling applications. The table gives the chain size for a single leg and for two legs, with working load limits (WLL) of 2,600 kg (2.6 t) to 54,500 kg (54.5 t).

Beaver states that its Grade 80 lifting components are made from heat treated alloy steel, are tested throughout manufacture, and meet AS 3776, Lifting Components for Grade T Chain Slings. They carry distinguishing marks, including the brand, grade and size and a date of manufacture and batch ID.

Beaver publishes one WLL for each link. The WLL of a finished sling depends on its chain size, the number of legs and the leg angle, so take it from the sling's own marking or WLL chart and never from the master link alone.

Selecting the right option

Choose the link by the chain size and the number of legs in the sling, then check that the link, chain, hooks and lifting point are all Grade 80 and rated for the load. Lifting equipment must be used within its marked working load limit (WLL), inspected before each use, and selected and used in line with your site lifting procedure and the relevant Australian Standards.
