M6 x 10 mm Button Head Socket Screw, 304 Stainless Steel - KBCSA2M6X10

Made in 304 (A2) stainless steel, the Button Head Socket Screw Black is a low, domed-head screw driven by a hex key. The smooth rounded head sits above the surface with little to catch on, so it is used where appearance or a snag-free finish matters.

A2 (304) stainless steel is the common general-purpose austenitic grade. It resists corrosion well indoors, in fresh water and in most general outdoor conditions, but it is not recommended where chlorides are present, such as coastal, pool and marine settings. Choose A4 (316) there. Metric sizes are written M followed by the nominal thread diameter in millimetres, so M10 is a 10 mm thread.

The range runs to 10 variants, covering sizes M6 to M8 and lengths 10 mm to 35 mm. Every size comes in packs of 100.

Austenitic stainless steel is generally non-magnetic, although cold-worked parts can show weak magnetism. In wet conditions, keep stainless steel apart from aluminium and galvanised steel with a washer or sleeve, to reduce the risk of galvanic corrosion.

Selecting the right option

The head is shallow, so the hex recess is smaller than on a cap screw of the same thread size. Use the correct key and avoid over-tightening. Use anti-seize on the thread. For coastal or chloride-exposed use, choose the A4 (316) version: Metric Button Socket Head Screw - 316 Stainless Steel.
