CRC Wire Rope & Cable Lubricant 285g Aerosol

CRC Wire Rope & Cable Lubricant is a blend of synthetic lubricants, solvents and molybdenum, designed to keep chains and wire rope lubricated. CRC says it operates effectively at temperatures up to 175 °C continuous.

Its low viscosity penetrates and coats interior wire strands and cushion pins, and the molybdenum gives it cling, so it avoids sling-off, drips and pooling at the lower ends of vertically hung chains and ropes. This page covers the 285g aerosol, CRC product number 3035.

Selecting the right option

Using it

Chain: apply to the upper edges of the overlapping chain side plates and allow the lubricant to set up before energising.

Wire rope: spray a light, even coat over the entire surface.

Do not apply while equipment is energised, in any application.

Storage and handling

Protect from sunlight and do not expose to temperatures above 50 °C. Keep away from heat and ignition sources. Do not pierce or burn the can, even after use. The pressurised container may burst if heated.

Limits and safety

SDS classification: signal word Danger. Extremely flammable aerosol (H222). Pressurised container: may burst if heated (H229). Causes skin irritation (H315). May cause drowsiness or dizziness (H336). Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects (H411). Transport class UN 1950, Aerosols, Class 2.1. Do not apply while equipment is energised.
