Aerosols give fast, portable coating, marking and maintenance for workshops, sites and plant. Choosing a Product
Zinc and cold galvanising
Zinc-rich aerosols are the usual choice for touching up galvanised surfaces after cutting, drilling or welding. Anchor, Boston, Galmet, Molytec, CRC, Dy-Mark and DCM all supply one, so the choice often comes down to finish colour and the topcoat you plan to use.
Primers and etch primers
Primers give the topcoat something to hold onto and add corrosion protection on steel. Etch primers key into bare metal, which helps on surfaces that are hard to coat. Whatever you use, clean, degrease and lightly abrade the surface first, shake the can well and apply light, even coats rather than one heavy coat.
Marking paints
Anchor and Dy-Mark cover floor and line marking, mine marking (including non-flammable and upright or inverted versions), survey, stencil, forestry, turf and livestock marking. Water-based and solvent-based options are available, so check the label against the surface and conditions.
Maintenance aerosols
The CRC range adds spray adhesives, a leak sealant, an adhesive and paint remover, air dusters and a smoke detector tester. Dy-Mark Flawcheck is a crack detection system for inspecting welds and components. Read the label for flammability and use.
