CRC Di-Electric Grease Food Grade 94g
Available
CRC Food Grade Di-Electric Grease is a thin, non-curing silicone compound. CRC's data sheet says it seals, lubricates, protects, insulates and waterproofs electrical connections, and lists O-rings, valves, pistons, gaskets, guides and slide mechanisms as well.
CRC lists a temperature range of -21 °C to 204 °C and NLGI Grade 2. It is supplied as a 94g pressurised can. CRC's data sheet says it will not harden, freeze, dry or melt due to temperature fluctuations, and it must not be applied while equipment is energised.
Where this product is used

Selecting the right option
For a non-food version see CRC Di-Electric Grease Seals; check its data sheet for the figures that apply. For other CRC food grade greases see CRC Food Grade Di-Electric Grease 284g and CRC Industrial Food Grade Silicone Grease 75ml.
Using it
CRC's directions: do not apply while equipment is energised. Shut off the power supply, drain any stored power and let hot surfaces cool.
Apply a light, even film to the areas that need lubrication or protection, and repeat if necessary.
Storage and handling
CRC's data sheet describes the product as combustible. Keep away from naked flames and ignition sources, and do not spray on an open flame. Store cool and well ventilated. Do not puncture, incinerate or store above 50 °C, and keep out of direct sunlight.
Limits and safety
Warning. Pressurised container: may burst if heated (H229). UN 1950, Aerosols, Class 2.2. The SDS does not classify the product as a health or environmental hazard, and CRC's data sheet describes it as combustible. Do not apply while equipment is energised. The NSF registration letter (15/07/15) asks for the minimum amount needed, and says an anti-rust film must be washed or wiped off so nothing transfers to food; the registration is valid only while the registration number, category code and mark appear on the approved label and the product is on the NSF White Book. Read the safety data sheet before use.
Frequently asked questions
What temperature range does CRC Food Grade Di-Electric Grease cover?
CRC's data sheet lists -21 °C to 204 °C.
What is the dielectric strength of CRC Food Grade Di-Electric Grease?
CRC's data sheet gives 500 volts/mil by ASTM D-877.
Can it be applied to live electrical equipment?
No. CRC's directions say do not apply while equipment is energised, and to shut off the power supply.
Will it damage seals, gaskets or plastic insulators?
CRC's data sheet says it will not degrade seals, gaskets or plastic insulators.
What is the flash point of CRC Food Grade Di-Electric Grease?
The SDS and the 08/2024 data sheet give above 150 °C for the liquid component. Older CRC documents give a higher figure, so this page uses the current ones.
Is CRC Food Grade Di-Electric Grease an aerosol?
CRC's product page lists a 94g aerosol, and the SDS classifies it as an aerosol, UN 1950, Class 2.2, with the pressurised container warning H229.
