Selecting the right option
Choose the clamp by the measured outside diameter of the hose over the stem, not by the nominal hose size alone. Dixon's method is to secure the assembly in a vice and tighten the two bolts alternately, a full turn at a time, until both reach the torque in the table (manufacturer-stated). Torque values assume dry bolts, so do not lubricate the nuts and bolts. Retighten periodically, because rubber hose cold flows (manufacturer-stated).
