Dixon White PTFE clamp gasket, 1/2"

This Dixon white PTFE gasket seals clamp-style sanitary joints in the 1/2" and 3/4" sizes. The colour code is no dot, and it meets 21CFR177.1550 and as having passed USP Class VI cytotoxicity testing. The gasket materials are approved by 3A and USDA and comply with FDA 21CFR177 requirements.

The PTFE pressure restriction that applies to 1" and larger clamp joints does not apply to the fractional 1/2" and 3/4" connections, because of their recessed, fully contained design.

Choosing the right option

Match the gasket to the ferrule size of the clamp joint, and to the material that suits your product and cleaning chemicals. Ptfe gaskets are not recommended with bolted clamps. The 1/2" and 3/4" gaskets use the 42MP series and the 1" and larger gaskets use the 40MP series, so do not mix the two when ordering. PTFE is subject to plastic flow: after heat cycling the gasket does not return to its original shape and keeps compressing, which allows leakage if clamp torque is not maintained.
