EasyRoll S5 Stainless Fixed Plate Castor, Red Urethane 125 mm | S53AS50R125

The EasyRoll S5 series fixed plate castor is fitted with a red urethane wheel and is available in 100 and 125 mm wheel diameters. Load capacity is 220 kg to 230 kg per castor depending on the wheel size. The top plate is 100 x 85 mm with hole centres of 60 x 80 mm.

The S5 series is suited to medical trolleys and equipment; hospital beds; and medicine trolleys. It has stainless steel roller bearings, shielded double headset bearings.

Selecting the right option

A swivel castor turns to follow the direction of travel and a fixed castor rolls in a straight line, so many trolleys use fixed castors at one end and swivel castors at the other. EHI rates polyurethane wheels as follows: good shock absorbency, excellent load capacity, good push effort, good floor protection and good durability. EHI describes it as the best all-round choice and suited to all surfaces, including irregular ones. Load capacity is shown per castor, on an average floor at speeds up to 4 km/h (manufacturer-stated). The capacity of a trolley is not the sum of its castors: for a four wheel trolley EHI recommends each castor is rated for at least 35 percent of the total load, which is the weight of the trolley plus what it carries.
