The Loctite 277 High Strength Threadlocker is a red, high-strength, high-viscosity threadlocker for permanently locking and sealing large bolts and studs, M25 and larger. It cures without air between close-fitting metal threads, stopping fasteners loosening and leaking under shock and vibration. Breakaway torque is typically 32 N·m on M10 steel after 24 hours, it works from -55°C to +150°C, and it glows under UV light so you can check it has been applied. This is the 250 ml bottle.
Start with clean, dry threads, and use Activator SF 7471 or SF 7649 on inactive metals or when a faster cure is needed; keep the nozzle off the metal as you apply. It is permanent (removal means heating the fastener to about 250°C and undoing it hot), and it is not recommended on plastics, especially thermoplastics, or in pure-oxygen and strong-oxidiser service.
