Loctite 438 Prism Instant Adhesive

The Loctite 438 Black Toughened Instant Adhesive (formerly Prism 438) is a low-viscosity, rubber-toughened ethyl cyanoacrylate. Compared with a standard instant adhesive it gives a more flexible bond with higher peel strength and better shock resistance, reaching 19 N/mm² lap shear on grit-blasted steel. It bonds metals, plastics, rubbers and porous materials, and the black colour blends in on dark parts. This is the 25 ml bottle.
Apply sparingly to clean, grease-free parts and keep the bond line thin, as it is strongest in gaps of about 0.05 mm. Parts fixture in 10 to 20 seconds on ABS and 30 to 45 seconds on steel, with full chemical resistance after 24 hours; it is not suited to pure oxygen, chlorine or strong oxidisers, and unopened stock belongs in the fridge at 2°C to 8°C.
