Maun MA2990/160 Diagonal Cutting Plier for Hard Wire, 160 mm

The Maun 160 mm diagonal cutting plier is a high-leverage cutter for soft, hard, dental and piano wire. A compound-lever action multiplies hand force by 22, so it needs less effort than a conventional plier of the same size (manufacturer-stated).

The jaws are induction-hardened to HRC 64 with accurate cutting edges, and a return spring opens the handles after each cut. Cutting capacity is 2.0 mm piano wire, 2.5 mm hard wire and 4.0 mm soft wire (manufacturer-stated). The handles are zinc-plated with grip detailing. Maun states that the plier must not be used on live electrical wire (manufacturer-stated). The 2990 plier is not insulated.

Maun lists BS 3087-7:1996 and ISO 5747:1995 for this range (manufacturer-stated). The plier is 160 mm long, weighs 165 g and is made in England (manufacturer-stated).
