MSA Pro-Lift PL300 Lifting Magnet, 300kg Safe Working Load

The MSA Pro-Lift is a lifting magnet sold in six models, with safe working loads from 300kg to 3000kg (manufacturer-stated). The number in each model code is the safe working load in kilograms: PL300, PL500, PL600, PL1000, PL2000 and PL3000.

For each model the catalogue lists the maximum breakaway, safe working load, full saturation thickness, minimum thickness for de-stack and net weight (manufacturer-stated). Maximum safe shear is shown as N/A for all six models.

Plan the lift to the safe working load, not to the breakaway figure. Choose the model on the safe working load for your heaviest lift, then check the workpiece against the full saturation thickness for that model: steel thinner than that holds less than the rating. The safe working load and the breakaway figure are the maker's figures (manufacturer-stated) from the catalogue. A lifting magnet must be used within its safe working load, inspected before each use, and used in line with your site lifting procedure and the applicable standards and regulations. The catalogue gives no certification wording for the Pro-Lift: if your site needs test or certification documents, ask the maker for them before you buy.
