IKO AS1024 Thrust Washer, 10 x 24 x 1 mm

The AS is a thrust washer, not a bearing: a flat washer 1 mm thick that serves as a raceway for a thrust needle roller bearing. This page lists 20 AS sizes for shafts from 10 to 90 mm, with outside diameters of 24 to 120 mm. A washer has no rollers or cage and no load rating of its own; it is used with the NTB of the same bore and outside diameter.

At 1 mm it is thinner than the WS and GS rings, so it keeps the axial section small. Choose the shaft size from the drop-down; the Model Details give the bore, outside diameter, thickness and mass of that size.

Mass is a reference value for one washer. "Used with" is the NTB of the same bore and outside diameter.

Selecting the right option

Each variant is one size. Choose the shaft diameter in mm from the drop-down: the model number is the bore diameter followed by the outside diameter, so AS3047 has a 30 mm bore and a 47 mm outside diameter. All sizes are 1 mm thick.

The AS is a washer only. It is used with the NTB thrust needle roller bearing of the same bore and outside diameter, for example AS3047 with NTB3047. 19 of the 20 AS sizes here have an NTB of the same size on AIMS; the 40 x 60 size is NTB 40603 in the catalogue and is not currently listed. The WS and GS rings are the other raceways, and they also suit the AZK.

Each face of the bearing runs on a raceway, so a washer is needed only on a face that does not already run on a WS or GS ring or on a hardened and ground surface.

Fitting and use

Seat the washer uniformly on its mating surface to avoid elastic deformation; a small warp is corrected automatically when axial load is applied.

The recommended shaft tolerance class is h8. Finish the mounting surfaces at right angles to the centre axis and keep them sufficiently rigid.
