Electric Motors — Techtop Three Phase & Single Phase AC Motors

AIMS Industrial sells Techtop electric motors — covering 415V three phase aluminium frame, 415V three phase cast iron frame and 240V single phase aluminium frame models. Techtop AC induction motors are built to IE2 and IE3 efficiency standards and are suited to driving fans, pumps, compressors, conveyors and general-purpose industrial machinery where reliable, continuous-duty motor performance is required.

Explosion proof (EXD), Stainless Steel and Roll Body options are also available.

Electric Motor Types We Stock

• Techtop 415V Three Phase Aluminium Frame (TAI): Techtop TAI series aluminium frame three phase motors from 1.1 kW to 5.5 kW. Lightweight construction suited to applications where frame weight is a consideration — ideal for pumps, fans and light machinery.
• Techtop 415V Three Phase Cast Iron Frame (TCI): Techtop TCI series cast iron frame motors for heavier-duty applications requiring rigidity and vibration resistance. Suitable for compressors, conveyors and industrial drives operating in demanding conditions.
• Techtop 240V Single Phase Aluminium Frame (TMY/TML): Techtop single phase motors for operations where three phase supply is unavailable — workshops, rural sites and retrofit applications. Available in TML and TMY configurations.
• High-Run Variant (TAI-BHR): Techtop TAI-BHR high-run aluminium frame motors designed for duty cycles requiring extended continuous operation — suitable for pump sets and ventilation fans running at or near full load for extended periods.
• Replacement Motor: Confirm shaft diameter, mounting configuration (B3 footmount, B5 flange, B14 face) and power rating before ordering to ensure direct replacement compatibility.

Selecting the Right Electric Motor

• Three Phase vs Single Phase: Three phase Techtop motors offer higher efficiency and smoother torque delivery for industrial plant. Single phase variants are used where only 240V supply is available — note single phase motors are generally limited to lower kW ratings.
• Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) are also offered in case motor speed needs to be modified.
• Aluminium vs Cast Iron Frame: Aluminium frame motors are lighter and more corrosion-resistant — suited to food, wash-down or weight-sensitive applications. Cast iron motors offer greater rigidity and are preferred for high-vibration machinery and heavy-duty industrial drives.
• IE2 & IE3 Efficiency Classes: Techtop motors meet IE2 and IE3 energy efficiency standards. IE3 motors reduce running costs over the motor's lifetime — important for continuously running applications such as pumps and fans.
• Matching Frame & Shaft Dimensions: When replacing an existing motor, confirm IEC frame size, shaft diameter, shaft length and mounting configuration. AIMS Industrial's team can assist with cross-referencing Techtop models to common replacement requirements.
