Choosing leaf chain
The easiest way to choose is to match the code on your existing chain, or the code in your machine's parts list or drawings. The code identifies the series (AL or BL), the pitch and the plate arrangement. AL is the lighter series and BL is the heavier series. Then choose the quantity: 10 ft boxes suit repairs and one-off jobs, and the 100 ft box suits regular use.
Leaf chain runs over sheaves in a lifting or balancing system, so check the anchor ends and sheaves suit the chain, and keep it lubricated.
Always check the data sheet. Confirm the chain code, pitch, working load and the anchor and clevis fittings before you order.
