Start with your machine: the arbor or chuck has to match it, such as MT3, 2MT, 3MT or a Weldon shank, and the pilot pin has to suit the cutter you are using, as the titles name the cutter or diameter it suits. Then choose the cutter: tungsten carbide tipped or high speed steel, the diameter on the variant, and the length.
