Choosing a sanding sheet
Start with the job and the finish you want, then the grit. A lower grit number is coarser and a higher number is finer, and the grits are listed on the variants, so start coarse for shaping and move finer for finishing. Next choose the abrasive in the title, aluminium oxide or silicon carbide, and the backing, paper or cloth, and check whether you want a dry or a wet and dry sheet. Check the sheet size in the title or on the variant, such as 230 x 280mm, and the pack size, as several Norton sheets are sold in packs of 50.
