Choosing a thread sealing or anti-seize product
Start with the job: sealing a threaded joint, protecting a thread from seizing, or packing a gland. For sealing, choose between a tape, which is quick to wrap, and a compound, which is brushed on and is useful on larger or awkward threads. For anti-seize, choose a tape or a compound, then the type named in the title, copper, nickel or ceramic. Check the width and roll length on the variant for tapes, and the tin or pack size for compounds. The suitability of each product for gas, oxygen, water, temperature or any other service is on the product page and the data sheet, so always check the product page and the data sheet before you order.
