Abbott & Ashby ATBG280/6 150mm (6") Industrial Bench Grinder, 280W

The Abbott & Ashby ATBG280/6 is the 150 mm (6") model in the Industrial range, with a 420 W input and 280 W output induction motor, a cast iron body and base, and 25 mm wide aluminium oxide grinding wheels in 36 and 60 grit (manufacturer-stated).

It runs on 240 V, 50 Hz single phase through a 10 A plug, draws 1.8 A and turns at 2880 RPM. The 50 mm wide wheel guards accept wire wheels without fouling (manufacturer-stated). The catalogue weight is 10 kg, which makes it the lighter of the two Industrial grinders.

Selecting the right option

Choose ATBG280/6 when 150 mm (6") wheels are enough; for 200 mm (8") wheels see ATBG600/8 industrial grinder (200mm / 8"). The 36 grit wheel removes material faster and the 60 grit wheel leaves a finer finish (a higher grit number is a finer abrasive).
