This AAP hexagon nipple is a 316/316L stainless steel forged fitting with NPT thread. It is supplied in 8 sizes, 1/4 in (8 mm) to 2 in (50 mm).
A hexagon nipple has a thread at each end and a hexagon in the middle for a spanner. It joins two female threaded fittings of the same size. A is its overall length and C is the width of the hexagon, as lettered on the AAP drawing.
AAP rates its stainless steel high pressure fittings at 3000 lb (manufacturer-stated) and lists them as 316/316L stainless steel to ASTM A182. AAP does not say which material its pressure and temperature chart covers, so AIMS does not quote it for stainless steel. Confirm the pressure rating at your operating temperature with AIMS before you order.

A is the overall length and C the width of the hexagon, as lettered on the AAP drawing, in millimetres. AAP marks PSTN32* with an asterisk: this is made to AAP own dimensions (manufacturer-stated).
Selecting the right option
Choose the size and thread to match your pipework (NPT or BSPT cannot be mixed), and check the thread gender at each end against the fitting it joins.
