2 in (50 mm) NBR Rubber Bellow, Table E | RB50N

This AAP NBR rubber bellow is drilled to Table E (manufacturer-stated). It is supplied in 5 sizes from 2 in (50 mm) to 6 in (150 mm).

A rubber bellow is a flexible joint moulded in a spherical shape from heat-resisting synthetic elastomer, with metal floating flanges. Installed in a piping system, it absorbs movement in three directions: axial (elongation and compression along the centre line), lateral (offset from the centre line) and angular (bending about the centre line).

The body is NBR, rated -25 to +100 °C, with a nylon cord fabric lining and a hard steel wire frame. AAP lists NBR as generally resistant to many hydrocarbons, fats, oils, greases, hydraulic fluids and chemicals, and generally affected or attacked by ozone, ketones, esters, aldehydes, and chlorinated and nitro hydrocarbons. Applications listed by AAP: air, compressed air, water, sea water, hot water and weak acid.

Selecting the right option

Match the flange drilling to the flanges on your pipework: this bellow is drilled to Table E (AS2129, manufacturer-stated). Check the movement you need to absorb against the table, because AAP lists each movement separately, and contact AIMS if the joint will see more than one movement at once. NBR is not suited to ozone, ketones, esters, aldehydes or chlorinated and nitro hydrocarbons, so choose an EPDM bellow for those duties. Availability on these NBR bellows varies, so contact AIMS before you order. If you are not sure what suits, contact AIMS with your pipe size, flange standard, fluid and temperature.
