This AAP roll groove mechanical tee is the BSP version, in ductile iron, for pipe with a hole cut in the run. It is supplied in 4 sizes, 3 x 2 in (80 x 50 mm) to 6 x 3 in (150 x 80 mm).
A mechanical tee clamps onto a pipe over a hole cut in the run and gives a branch outlet without cutting in a tee. Sizes are shown as AAP prints them: the run size first, then the outlet size. The two housings are tightened with the bolts listed against each size. A is the overall length, B the height and C the housing width, as lettered on the AAP drawing. AAP does not state the hole size to cut in the pipe, so confirm it with AIMS before you order.
AAP states that its roll groove fittings are made in ductile iron to ASTM A536 Grade 65-45-12 (manufacturer-stated). AAP does not state the finish of the mechanical tee. AAP states a working pressure of 1600 kPa and a maximum working temperature of 100 °C for this product (manufacturer-stated). A, B and C are lettered on the AAP drawing, in millimetres. C is the housing width on the drawing; AIMS is confirming with AAP whether it also relates to the hole cutting size. Weights are approximate, in kilograms per piece.
