1/2" BSW Allthread Rod, 304 Stainless Steel - ATRA212BSWX3

Made in 304 (A2) stainless steel, the Allthread Rod BSW is a straight rod threaded along its full length. It is cut to length and used with nuts and washers to hang, tie, clamp or span between two fixing points.

Made from 304 (A2) stainless steel, a standard austenitic grade with good everyday corrosion resistance. It is a sound choice away from the coast; in chloride-exposed settings, step up to 316 (A4). BSW (British Standard Whitworth) is an older inch-based thread found on older machinery and imported equipment. It is not interchangeable with UNC or metric threads.

In wet conditions, keep stainless steel apart from aluminium and galvanised steel with a washer or sleeve, to reduce the risk of galvanic corrosion.

Selecting the right option

Match the thread system to the nuts and fittings you already have: metric coarse, metric fine, UNC and BSW rods are not interchangeable. Cut rods can leave a burr, so run a nut over the cut end before use. For coastal or chloride-exposed use, choose the A4 (316) version: Allthread Rod BSW 316 Stainless Steel.
