Beaver's range runs from 500 kg to 3000 kg in 3 m and 6 m standard lifts. AIMS carries only the 1000 kg, 2000 kg and 3000 kg hoists with a 3 m lift on this listing; the 500 kg three phase hoist and the 6 m lifts are not carried. Beaver says longer lifts are available on request (manufacturer-stated). Beaver does not publish the load at which the overload clutch operates, so do not treat it as an allowance above the rated capacity. Beaver lists an IP54 rating (manufacturer-stated). IP54 is a dust and splash rating, so do not treat the hoist as suited to hosing down or immersion. Lifting equipment must be used within its marked working load limit (WLL), inspected before each use, and selected and used in line with your site lifting procedure and the relevant Australian Standards. Codes, capacities, speeds, motor data, test loads, headroom, weights and dimensions (in millimetres) are from Beaver's Materials Handling Technical Manual (Vol. 4) and Beaver's data sheets. Beaver says pendant length is 1 metre less than lift height as standard. Beaver does not define dimension letters A to H, and its manual heads the headroom column 'Min. Headroom G'.

Selecting the right option

Choose the voltage to match the power supply on site (240 V single phase or 415 V three phase), then the rated capacity to suit the heaviest load, allowing for the weight of slings, shackles and hooks. Check the minimum headroom G against the space between your fixing point and the load at its highest, and the lifting speed against the work. Beaver says its hoists suit a duty of up to 40% ED; ask Beaver or AIMS about continuous duty. If you are unsure, ask AIMS or a qualified rigger.
