1/2" x 1-1/2" BSW Hex Set Bolt, 316 Stainless Steel - XHSA412BSWX112
Available
Made in 316 (A4) stainless steel, the BSW Hex Set Bolt (Full Thread) is a hex head bolt threaded along its full length (also sold as a hex set screw). The full thread lets it run right up to the head and suits tapped holes and thin joints.
You can choose from 10 variants, covering sizes 1/2" and lengths 3/4" to 4". Variants are supplied in packs of 25 to 100, depending on size.
Made from 316 (A4) stainless steel, the grade normally specified for chloride-exposed work such as coastal installations, swimming pools, marine fittings and food-processing plant. BSW (British Standard Whitworth) is an older inch-based thread found on older machinery and imported equipment. It is not interchangeable with UNC or metric threads.
Stainless threads can gall (seize) when tightened under load or at speed. A smear of anti-seize on the thread and a steady tightening speed reduce the risk.

Selecting the right option
A fully threaded bolt is the usual choice for tapped holes. Where the joint is loaded sideways, a partly threaded hex bolt keeps a plain shank in the shear plane. Use anti-seize on the thread, because stainless threads can gall when tightened.
