Selecting the right option

Choose the thread form first: the screw and the nut or tapped hole must match in thread form, diameter and pitch. Metric sizes are the nominal diameter in millimetres; compare the pitch with your nut or tapped hole. Length is measured from under the head to the end of the screw. Check the across-flats size of the head before choosing a spanner; it is not published for these items. Check the grade shown for each item in the table. For the other grade see Bumax Hex Set Screw, High Tensile Stainless Steel, Grade 10.9, M6 to M20, 12 to 175mm long.
