CRC Trefolex Cutting Paste 500ml
Available
CRC Trefolex Cutting Paste (titled Trefolex Cutting Compound on CRC's data sheet) is a green, active cutting compound paste containing a colloid. CRC says it does not run off or evaporate, and that it melts slowly as frictional heat is generated to give continuous lubrication throughout low speed cutting operations.
CRC lists it for use with taps and dies, hacksaws, reamers and all hand tools, and for low speed cutting operations only. CRC says it significantly increases tool life, improves threads and gives clean cuts with no tearing on steel, aluminium, copper, brass and stainless steel.

CRC's data sheet restricts this paste to hand tools and low speed cutting. For cutting, drilling and thread cutting with an aerosol oil, see CRC Trefolex CDT Cutting Oil 300g.
Using it
CRC's data sheet says the paste is strictly for use on hand tools and low speed cutting operations only. Do not use it in operations which will or may generate high temperatures.
CRC notes that the surface of copper and brass is darkened, although the metal suffers no detrimental effect.
Storage and handling
Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated area, away from incompatible substances, heat or ignition sources and foodstuffs (safety data sheet).
Limits and safety
For hand tools and low speed cutting operations only. Do not use in operations which will or may generate high temperatures (CRC data sheet). Copper and brass surfaces darken. The safety data sheet classifies it as not hazardous under Safe Work Australia criteria and not a dangerous good. Read the safety data sheet before use.
