CRC Ultra High Strength Spray Aerosol Adhesive 550ml

CRC Ultra High Strength (UHS) is a solvent-based contact adhesive in a 550ml aerosol. CRC's data sheet describes an ultra high strength adhesive that gives an immediate and permanent bond on a wide variety of surfaces, with a variable nozzle for controlled, accurate spraying.

CRC's product page lists wood, metal, concrete, some plastics, laminates, particle board and foam, and flooring including cork tiles, carpet, linoleum, hardwood and laminate. It is not suitable for polystyrene or for bonds immersed in water. The SDS classifies it as an extremely flammable aerosol.

Selecting the right option

This is a permanent contact bond. For a pressure-sensitive spray adhesive that stays repositionable for 1-2 minutes, see CRC ADOS Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. CRC says UHS is not suitable for polystyrene.

Using it

CRC's directions: surfaces must be clean and dry, and pre-wiped. Spray an even layer on both surfaces, adjusting the nozzle for the spray width you need. CRC's page says to spray from 20-25cm, and to use the can and surfaces at 8°C or above.

Wait 5-10 minutes until the adhesive is tacky. Contact is immediate, so position accurately, then apply maximum overall instant pressure. For an extra strong bond, CRC's page says to apply two coats with 5 minutes between.

Test in a typical bonding situation before coating the full area. After use, CRC's page says to clean the valve by inverting the can.

Storage and handling

CRC says to store indoors at a temperature between 5°C and 30°C. Do not puncture, incinerate or store above 50°C.

Limits and safety
