The body is sand-cast bronze, grade UNS C84400, which Dixon lists to ASTM-B584 (manufacturer-stated). Dust caps and dust plugs are not to be used in any pressure applications for safety and environmental reasons (manufacturer-stated).

Selecting the right option
Choose the size from the camlock fitting it will close: a dust cap is sized to match the coupling size, so a 50 mm dust cap goes with a 50 mm male adaptor. Match the body material to the fitting as well. Dixon states that no standard exists for the 15 mm (1/2 in) and 200 mm (8 in) camlock sizes and that these sizes generally do not interchange with other manufacturers (manufacturer-stated). Dixon's size table also prints a working pressure beside each size, but Dixon states that dust caps and dust plugs are not to be used in any pressure applications (manufacturer-stated), so treat this dust cap as a cover only and never as a pressure seal.
