Selecting the right option
Start with the coupling size. The sizes in the table are camlock coupling sizes in mm, and each gasket part number is built from the size code (for example 100-G for 25 mm). Then check the material against the media you will handle, because the gasket is the part in contact with the product. Dixon notes that other manufacturers use different colour-code systems, so its colour chart should not be used to identify gaskets of unknown origin (manufacturer-stated). Dixon's colour code table lists the -VI code as green with no stripe and the -VIA code as black with one yellow stripe (manufacturer-stated). If colour matters for identification, check the part number printed in the table rather than the colour alone, and ask us if you need the -VIA version. Dixon adds that no interchange standard exists for the 1/2 in, 5 in and 8 in fittings (15 mm, 125 mm and 200 mm), so gaskets in those sizes are not suitable for use in other manufacturers' couplings (manufacturer-stated).
