KCM 06BN BS Nickel Plated Roller Chain Offset Link (Half Link) Simplex, 3/8 in Pitch

KCM offset links (half links) let a length of BS nickel plated simplex roller chain be made up with an odd number of pitches. Match the link to the KCM chain with the same chain number, strand count and series.

Selecting the right option

For BS chain the number is the pitch in sixteenths of an inch: 08B is 8/16 in (1/2 in), 12B is 12/16 in (3/4 in), 16B is 1 in. The figure after the dash is the number of strands.

Choose nickel plated chain where you want corrosion resistance on a standard steel chain design, and the temperature stays between -10 and +60 degrees C. Size it on the nickel plated allowable load, not the steel figure.

KCM does not publish a maximum allowable load for BS nickel plated chain, so none is shown. Ask AIMS if you need one before ordering.

Fitting and use

KCM's power transmission tables note that chain with an offset link transmits 80% of the tabulated power.

KCM says not to replace damaged parts of a chain with new ones. Replace the whole chain, and check the sprockets when changing chain.

Check that a safety cover is fitted before running a chain drive.
