The Loctite 277 High Strength Threadlocker is a red, high-viscosity anaerobic for permanent locking and sealing of large bolts and studs, M25 and above. It gives 32 N·m breakaway torque on M10 steel and works from -55°C to +150°C. It cures between close-fitting metal threads to stop loosening and leakage from shock and vibration, and fluoresces under UV light for inspection. This is the 50 ml bottle.
Apply to clean, dry bolt threads at the engagement area and assemble, adding SF 7471 or SF 7649 where cure is slow. As a permanent-strength product it needs local heat to about 250°C for removal, and it is not recommended on thermoplastics or in oxygen, chlorine or strong oxidiser service.
