IKO BR162412 Needle Roller Bearing without Inner Ring 25.4 x 38.1 x 19.05 mm

IKO BR needle roller bearings are machined type caged bearings without an inner ring, in inch sizes. This page lists 27 sizes: 15.875 to 101.6 mm (5/8 to 4 in) shaft, 28.575 to 127 mm (1 1/8 to 5 in) outside diameter and 19.05 to 50.8 mm wide, all open (no seals).

Machined type needle roller bearings have a low sectional height and large load ratings. The outer ring is rigid and can be used even in light alloy housings. Without an inner ring the shaft is the raceway, which allows a compact design and lets you choose the radial clearance by the shaft diameter. The shaft needs to be heat-treated and ground; where it cannot be, ask AIMS about an inner ring for the size.

In the model number the figures after BR are the shaft diameter, outside diameter and width in sixteenths of an inch, so BR122012 is 3/4 x 1 1/4 x 3/4 in.

Fw is the roller set bore diameter, D the outside diameter and C the width; C and C0 are the basic dynamic and static load ratings, and speed is the allowable rotational speed.

Selecting the right option

Choose the size with the Outside Diameter option (in inches) and the Width (mm) option; the sizes table gives the shaft diameter, outside diameter and width in both millimetres and inches, so check the model number against the table.

LRB inner rings are the ring type for the BR series. Ask AIMS to match a ring to your size.

Fitting and use

These bearings are not prepacked with grease, so lubricate them before use. The allowable rotational speed in the tables is for oil lubrication; for grease lubrication use up to 60% of it. Bearings up to 69.85 mm shaft have one oil hole in the outer ring with an oil groove (22 sizes); larger sizes have two (5 sizes).

The shaft is the raceway, so it needs to be heat-treated and ground. Ask AIMS for the shaft and housing tolerances and the radial clearance that suit your application.
