IKO RNA4903 Needle Roller Bearing without Inner Ring, 22 x 30 x 13 mm

This page holds two series of IKO machined type caged needle roller bearings without an inner ring: 5 sizes of RNA49 (20 to 35 mm shaft, models RNA4902 to RNA4906) and 5 sizes of RNA69 (20 to 80 mm shaft, models RNA6902 to RNA6914). All are open, with no seals.

Machined type needle roller bearings have a low sectional height and large load ratings. The outer ring is rigid and can be used even in light alloy housings. Without an inner ring the shaft is the raceway, which allows a compact design and lets you choose the radial clearance by the shaft diameter. The shaft needs to be heat-treated and ground; where it cannot be, use a matching inner ring from the ring column of the sizes table.

RNA69 has a wider outer ring than RNA49 for the same shaft diameter, so check the width in the sizes table.

Fw is the roller set bore diameter, D the outside diameter and C the width; C and C0 are the basic dynamic and static load ratings, and speed is the allowable rotational speed.

Selecting the right option

Choose the size with the Inside Diameter (mm) option, which is the roller set bore diameter Fw (the shaft diameter), and the Width (mm) option. The model number is shown with each variant and in the sizes table.

This page mixes two series, RNA49 and RNA69. Confirm the width as well as the shaft diameter, since RNA69 is wider than RNA49 for the same shaft diameter.

Fitting and use

These bearings are not prepacked with grease, so lubricate them before use. The allowable rotational speed in the tables is for oil lubrication; for grease lubrication use up to 60% of it. The outer ring has one oil hole with an oil groove.

The shaft is the raceway, so it needs to be heat-treated and ground. Ask AIMS for the shaft and housing tolerances and the radial clearance that suit your application.
