Mackay M2000B Isomount High Thrust Height Adjuster, M12 thread

The Mackay Isomount high thrust height adjuster is the Type 3 adjuster for Isomount isolators, which Mackay describes as available for mobile applications where thrust is an issue (manufacturer-stated). Mackay recommends height adjusters where precise alignment is required (manufacturer-stated).

It is sold on its own in three sizes, M2000B (M12 thread), M2200B (M16) and M2400B (M20), one for each size of Isomount, and weighs 0.3 kg, 0.5 kg and 0.7 kg. Mackay says fitting an inappropriate height adjuster has in the past damaged the centre spindle and caused early failure of the isolator, and that care must be taken not to put excessive bending forces on the centre spindle (manufacturer-stated).

Part numbers and weights are from Mackay Fig 2, and the thread, E and K dimensions from Fig 3, in millimetres. Letters D, E and K are read from the Mackay height adjuster drawing. Mackay prints all properties as nominal and asks you to contact them for technical advice.

Selecting the right option

Pick the adjuster by the Isomount size: the generic number (M2000, M2200 or M2400) in the table is the Isomount it is listed against, and the thread must match the isolator centre thread. Mackay says to fit the isolator with the adjuster in its mean position, place the washer hard against the top cap, fully locate the adjusting spindle into the isolator, and use shims or packing pieces under the mounting base if the adjuster does not give enough height (manufacturer-stated). Tighten the centre fixings to Mackay's recommended torque (45-50 Nm for M12, 100-110 Nm for M16, 150-170 Nm for M20) and recheck alignment (manufacturer-stated). Confirm with Mackay for engine or other critical applications.
