M3 Wing Nut, 304 Stainless Steel - WNUA2M3

The Metric Wing Nut, 304 Stainless Steel is available in 8 sizes (M3 to M16) and is a nut with two flat wings that allow it to be tightened and loosened by hand, with no tool.

You can choose from 8 variants, covering sizes M3 to M16. Variants are supplied in packs of 25 to 100, depending on size.

The A2 (304) stainless material suits indoor, fresh water and typical outdoor use. Where the fastening is exposed to salt air, pool chemicals or marine conditions, A4 (316) is the grade to use instead. Metric sizes are written M followed by the nominal thread diameter in millimetres, so M10 is a 10 mm thread.

Stainless threads can gall (seize) when tightened under load or at speed. A smear of anti-seize on the thread and a steady tightening speed reduce the risk.

Selecting the right option

Hand tightening gives only a light clamping force, so a wing nut is not suited to joints that carry high loads or vibrate. Use anti-seize on the thread. For coastal or chloride-exposed use, choose the A4 (316) version: Metric Wing Nut - 316 Stainless Steel.
