Sutton D1180012 MT1-MT2 Morse Taper Sleeve - Hardened Alloy Steel

The Sutton D118 Morse taper sleeve adapts a tool with a Morse taper shank to a larger Morse taper spindle or socket. It is made from hardened alloy steel, precision ground internally and externally, with a bright finish, and is supplied in 13 internal and external taper combinations from MT1-MT2 to MT5-MT6.

Each sleeve has an internal taper that takes the drill or tool shank and an external taper that fits the spindle. The hardened alloy steel is designed for strength and wear resistance, and the precision ground tapers are designed to seat accurately. The catalogue marks the #1-#4, #1-#5 and #2-#5 sleeves (internal taper shown in brackets) as sizes to avoid wherever possible.

Using the sleeves

• Choose the sleeve with an internal taper matching the tool shank and an external taper matching the spindle.
• Clean the tapers before fitting so they seat fully.
• Remove the tool and sleeve with a D142 drill drift key where the spindle or sleeve has a drift slot.
