Sutton #11 (4.85mm) Silver Bullet Panel Drill Stub - HSS

The Sutton D123 Silver Bullet panel drill is a single-ended HSS drill with a bright (uncoated) finish, a 118° stub point and a rigid design for through-hole drilling. It is made for rivet holes in sheet metal fabrication, in 3 sizes from Ø3.26 mm to Ø4.85 mm.

Sutton recommends its panel drills for shallow holes no deeper than 1-1/4 × the drill diameter (d1). Supplied in packs of 10.

Where this product is used

• Rivet holes in sheet metal fabrication, flat and curved panels (Sutton's stated use for the panel series).
• Through-hole drilling in thin material, within the 1-1/4 × d1 depth limit.
• Materials Sutton rates Optimal: non-alloy steel, about 0.15 %C, annealed; non-alloy steel, about 0.45 %C, annealed; low-alloy steel (under 5% alloying elements), annealed; and wrought aluminium and magnesium alloys.
• Also rated Effective by Sutton: non-alloy steel, about 0.45 %C, quenched and tempered (250 HB); non-alloy steel, about 0.75 %C (annealed and quenched and tempered); austenitic stainless steel; duplex stainless steel; grey cast iron; nodular cast iron; cast aluminium and magnesium alloys (up to 12% Si); free-cutting copper alloys; bronze; and chilled cast iron.
