Sutton 300mm Bi-Metal Cobalt Hacksaw Blade 18 TPI - Pack of 10 - H356

The Sutton H356 is a Bi-Metal Cobalt hacksaw blade, 300 mm long, in 18, 24 and 32 TPI. It is sold in packs of 10 (bulk). The blade is designed for tough materials such as stainless steel.

The bi-metal cobalt blade is designed for tough materials such as stainless steel, with the shatterproof construction and cutting power of a bi-metal blade. The 300 mm pin hole centres fit all standard hacksaw frames, and the blade is colour coded (purple) with clear markings for easy identification.

Where this product is used

• 18 TPI, for 6 to 25 mm materials such as pipe, angle iron and steel bar.
• 24 TPI, for 3 to 6 mm materials such as conduit, heavy sheet metal and tubing.
• 32 TPI, for materials up to 3 mm thick such as thin sheet metal and metal trim.

Match the teeth per inch (TPI) to the thickness of the material being cut.

Choosing the blade grade

Each grade is colour coded for easy identification.

Using the blade

• Choose the TPI by the material thickness, so at least 3 teeth are in contact with the work at all times.
• Fit the blade with the teeth pointing away from the handle, so it cuts on the forward stroke, and tension the frame firmly.
• Use long, steady strokes and light pressure on the forward stroke. Use cutting fluid when working stainless steel.
• Support the work close to the cut so it does not vibrate or pinch the blade.
