SY BL466 Leaf Chain Connecting Link, 6 x 6 Lacing, 1/2 in Pitch

SY connecting links join the ends of a length of leaf chain into a continuous loop. Each size here is matched to the SY chain of the same number, so select the link with the same chain number, strand count and series as your chain.

Made in Japan by Sugiyama Chain Co., Ltd. AIMS Industrial supplies these links individually. This listing covers 27 sizes (BL466 to BL1688). BL leaf chain uses link plates of the next larger pitch size of Sugiyama standard roller chain, for heavier duty.

Selecting the right option

BL leaf chain uses the next larger pitch size of plate, for medium loads with more shock. Match pitch and lacing to your sheaves and anchor.

In Sugiyama's leaf chain numbers the leading digits give the pitch (in eighths of an inch) and the last two digits give the lacing, for example BL466 is 1/2 in pitch with 6 x 6 lacing.

Fitting and use

Fit the retaining clip or pin the way Sugiyama shows: spring clips go on with the closed end pointing the direction the chain runs, cotter pin prongs are opened to a 60 degree angle, and cotter pins must not be re-used. Use the clip or pin supplied with the link.

Chain drives should be guarded. Lock out machine power before removing, installing or servicing chain, wear eye protection when driving or grinding pins, avoid welding or plating assembled chain, and never repair damaged chain by replacing only some of its parts.
