This AAP non-rising stem cast iron gate valve has a cast iron body, bonnet and wedge, a brass stem and flanges to AS 2129 Table E (manufacturer-stated). It is supplied in 9 sizes from 2 in (50 mm) to 12 in (300 mm).

A wedge gate valve moves a wedge-shaped gate between two body seats using a spindle, so when it is fully open the fluid has a straight, uninterrupted passage with very little pressure drop. AAP says it is not recommended for flow regulation and should only be used fully open or fully closed. On a non-rising stem valve the stem turns without lifting, so it suits places where there is little headroom, and the valve needs a separate way of showing its position. AAP describes the wedge as a solid wedge disc.

AAP gives a maximum temperature of 100 degrees C and a cold working pressure of 1,379 kPa (13.79 bar), with flanges to AS 2129 Table E (manufacturer-stated), and lists the valve for water, sewage and neutral liquid applications. The body, bonnet and wedge are cast iron with cast bronze seat and wedge face rings, a brass stem, Teflon packing and a full face nitrile body gasket.

Choose the size to match your Table E flanges, and check the hole count against your mating flange, because it differs between Table D and Table E. AAP also lists a rising stem version.
