1/2 in (15 mm) Forged Steel Gate Valve, Class 800, Socketweld | VGA800SW15

This AAP forged steel Class 800 gate valve has a forged ASTM A105 body, bonnet and wedge, a graphite gasket, an SS410 disc and socketweld ends. It is supplied in 6 sizes from 1/2 in (15 mm) to 2 in (50 mm).

A forged steel Class 800 gate valve is a compact, heavy-duty wedge gate valve for small bore steam, oil and process lines. A wedge gate valve moves a wedge-shaped gate between two body seats using a spindle, so when it is fully open the fluid has a straight, uninterrupted passage with very little pressure drop. AAP says it is not recommended for flow regulation and should only be used fully open or fully closed.

AAP gives a cold working pressure of 13,800 kPa (138 bar) and a maximum working temperature of 427 degrees C, with a design to ANSI B16.34 and Socketweld to ASME B16.11 (all manufacturer-stated). The disc is SS410 (2Cr13), the seat is H/F Stellite and the gasket is graphite, and AAP lists the valve for steam, oil and the petrochemical industry. The 13,800 kPa figure is the cold working pressure, so the allowable pressure falls as the temperature rises. Ask AIMS for the pressure and temperature rating if the valve will run hot.

Choose the size and the end connection, socketweld, to match your pipework, and confirm the pressure and temperature rating for your duty. AAP also lists the other end connection in the same sizes, and cast steel flanged gate valves for larger lines.
